Westview-Fairforest Fire Department and The American Red Cross have joined forces with a fire alarm initiative in our district.
The American Red Cross Home Fire Preparedness Campaign in South Carolina received a grant for 50,000 fire alarms. We were allotted a certain number of fire alarms according to the size of our district and number of stations.
WFFD has targeted areas to put the free fire alarms in to homes. With the fire alarms, the department also installs the alarms, does the required home safety inspection and fire safety education.
We have installed a fire alarms in a number of homes that didn’t even have one alarm in the household and children lived in the home. There is still much more fire safety education needs to be done in country.
We are very proud to be a part of the American Red Cross Home Fire Preparedness Campaign in South Carolina!!
