Ivan Settle and Firefighter Scott Dorsey from the Westview-Fairforest Fire Department pulled an injured man to safety\u00a0Thursday morning, Oct. 1, 2015 after he drove his truck into a hole caused by the road washing away at the intersection of Hayne and Ethel Roads in Spartanburg.<\/p>\n<p>Westview-Fairforest and Una Fire Departments were on the scene, along with Spartanburg County Emergency Management.<\/p>\n<p>Crews say the man was swept away in his vehicle, but he managed to get out and cling to a tree before he was saved.<\/p>\n<p>The man was taken to the\u00a0hospital and his conditions and injuries were not known.<\/p>\n<p>A culvert pipe was washed out and the road in that section is gone, according to emergency crews.<\/p>\n<p>We appreciate the work of our B-Shift Crew &#8211; Capt.
